Okay, I tested the EVO 4 spool with EVO 5 Gear, TA05 steel outdrives as well as stock outdrives. The stock didn't feel too bad but it was a little tight. As I rotated the gear, I would hit a spot after three revolutions or so where the gears would stick. I didn't have that problem when using the steel outdrives. The drivetrain was still very smooth, but still a "little (tiny bit)" tighter than normal. I think it's raceable though.
So, Steel outdrive "yes"...stock outdrives "No"
