I think the RTR is based off of the MF1, while theres not a huge difference between the two trucks, the MF2 has a little lower internal ratio, and the transmission can be seen from the bottom plate, probably to overcome the larger diff gear. I had both a MF1, and MF2, really felt like I was sort of taken by all the hype of the MF2, my MF1 was dialed in and there was nothing wrong with it. I'd say if your budget it tight, dont want to build, or will mostly bash with occasional racing, there is nothing wrong with the RTR. If your going all out racing, want the best, want to build......wait a little while because word is that there will be a XXXCR-T, or whatever letters they use to replace the MF2. Seems like since Kindwald and Francis are not around much they are updating there offroad series without anyones name.
