Traction was high when the carpet went down over the track, so it probably won't need to be treated. At this time I think the worry is there will be too much traction. The chemicals inside won't be an issue, the on road room has a lot of ventilation, a large garage door and two smaller doors that can be left open if needed as well as a large vent in the ceiling and a powered vent in one wall.
The track is also in a separate room from the pit area, so your exposure to the chemicals is minimized somewhat. Come July it will be pretty warm up here so every door will be open and every fan will be on, the air exchange is really good with the fans running.
