You don't have to be a "serious competitor" to have more than one engine, but it does help to have another car to test them in, so you can race with your primary car and play with the second one. Plus, having a backup engine is not such a bad idea.

When there's more hands on feedback I guess it'll be easier to see. Oh, yeah I do think you'd have to be really competitive to get multiple engines. Reason being for someone like me who isn't going to be out there every weekend, is that the current engine should work fine for a while if taken care of. I don't think it's a bad idea, but it's not imperative at this time for me. Plus, I'd wait for the tuned version and maybe even a modded version.
