I used to store mine in the basement.
The biggest thing is to make sure you have it in a place with a constant temperature. Don't store it in a garage, don't store it near heating & cooling vents. If you must store it somewhere with a concrete floor - put a wooden board between the bottle and the floor. Also if you can, keep that red inner seal for long term storage.
I also wrapped my fuel in a garbage bag.

I would leave your fuel somewhere besides the basement. Nitro fuel actually pulls in moisture, so it wouldn't take long in a damp basement to go.
It has been 2-3 years ago but I remember a friend of mine had just purchased a new RC10GT RTR and used Wildcat fuel. Within the first two tanks, the head gasket was leaking. I am not saying the fuel was the problem, could have very well been the truck.
