The EP cells are not the only cells to have the self disharge problems. They IB cells do this same thing. Not all EP cells are bad on this as well. I have done some long term self dicharge testing on these tihngs and the problem is not as bad as it sound! Long term storage. (2 weeks or more) required a decent charge on the cells. Some self discharge harder then other but we are not talking about dead cells in a couple days here!

As long as the cells are not stored with no charge (ie taking them down to .9V) and then stored for days then this is really not a problem. For stock racing I just run the pack for 6-7 min runs and then store it. For mod if you are getting any where close to dumping the pack put some more charge back in them. Since you are just adding in a partial charge you should not need to equalize the pack prior to charging it back up. Just extra time and cycles IMO. And for what it is worth I have seen and played with few of these batteries myself!
