Ummm, yes, it would make some difference... But I think it's no where the Mugen MTX-3's acceleration. The Mugen's first gear drive ratio is 7.421. The 705 when using the optional 17T side pulley, 22T brake pulley, 47T diff pulley, 15T pinion and 50T first gear spur only gives a 7.121 first gear drive ratio. Don't forget the fact that the Mugen is also a much lighter car...

Kenji's final drive ratio for the 2nd gear is 5.431. If you use 18T smallest 2nd gear pinion and 46T biggest 2nd gear spur, you arrive at a final drive ratio of 5.459 on the 705. Pretty close to the Mugen.

Also, yes Frederick, you are correct on the top speed. The Impulse PRO / 705 never had any problems with that. In fact too much top speed I must say
