Hey Chris, I am also very picky with my shocks. If you are getting air in your shocks, you may want to try to screw on the cap a certain way. After you've added the oil and moved the shaft up and down to allow bubbles to rise to the top, you let the shocks sit for around 15 minutes unless you have a shock pump. After the bladder is placed, take an allen wrench and press the center of the bladder in a circular motion allowing the oil to bleed from the sides. When placing the cap, hold down the plastic mount tight and then screw down the collar. This elimiates air bubbles. Now you probably have a shock with a lot of pressure. Unscrew the bottom cap and move the shock up and down. You'll bleed out a drop of oil and take a napkin to wipe off the oil. You can do this until the desired rebound is accomplished. Shocks are perfect every time.
