I ran mine on carpet and it had a ton of steering. I'm still learning the 1/12 scale thing so I can't say too much about it. I will say that the Generation X is alot easier to drive than the Hammer was. There was a carpet chassis made for the car also. The "sledge hammer". Not sure who makes it or where to find it though.
