You didn't say which kind of Novak so I will assume it's a Novak GTX.

I re soldered my wires because I ditched the deans plugs for the motor. I direct solder now. You must have a hot iron. I use the Weller 80 watt iron. Yes, soldering near the circuit board scares the crap outta me also. Pre-tin you're wires before you want to solder them to the board. Be sure not to goop on the solder. Having an extra set up hands or a vise helps big time. Once you pre soldering youre wires, insert them thru the circuit board, then lay the iron on there and let them melt together. Don't over do it! Then gently pull on the wires to see if they will hold! Thats all there is to it. I've done this to both of my GTX's.....good luck
