Patrick, I also have a 9451 that has been through a gallon in my gas truck and now a gallon in the 8ight. I also have a 359 on standby. We'll just have to wait and see.
A couple of things I do which I have not seen mentioned yet are polishing the throttle rod so that the plastic thing slides easily. And on my OS VG the throttle boot was pushing the throttle open when at rest. I just push more of the boot onto the carb so that it actually pulls the throttle closed.
