You running a truck or buggy and what brand AE or Losi? Monsters are not the best motor for tight tracks as they have tons of RPM. Black (p2k2) or Blue (CO27) motors are better on tighter tracks as they have more natural torque. Monsters (green) can work though. So Cal is a pretty tight track with better then average traction and people have had good success with monsters. You just need to gear them down low enough.
