I have an OFNA buggy steering laydown servo mount that fits between the throttle servo and the front bulkheads. I just haven't drilled mounting holes thru the top deck yet. But I did drill and install the single servo saver of an MRX-4 up front for the steering. It is only mounted at the top, may need to fab a bottom support but I don't think there is that much load on it. No mods on the chassis for the engine drop in other than it needs about a .5mm shim to raise the engine or a mill under the center of the crankcase. The biggest problem is mounting a .21 pipe on this short of a chassis. Regardless, the .21 would break traction at 1/4 throttle, I do believe, especially on a 2wd.
