Ive bent, broke, and tweak many steel t plates. Ive seen many others do it as well... Mostly because when i used them they were faster with two screws..This is 10th scale.. At the 05 paved nats i had two of them bend in two runs without hitting anything. . I had one break in a bad wreck.. Ive actually had more steel t plates go bad then i have fiberglass.. Now i only run a 75 or 62 straight cut.. Graanted this was on a high banked oval track. Ive seen quite a few guys take the t plate off after a few weeks, and lay them on a flat surface to find they have been tweaked..
Performance wise there not bad.. I generally run a little thicker oil when using them.. they seem to spring back a little faster then foberglass..
