Yes--I aimed both at a burner on the stove and watched them count up. The Cen-Tech labeled one over-ranges at 230 (says "hI) degrees while the Duratrax goes up to 430 before giving a similar message.
They are DEFINITELY the same manufacturer--the cases (other than color)and tethers are identical. The displays, while the same size, are different--the temp is displayed larger on the Duratrax, while adding the larger first line on the Cen-Tech one (to show the time while in standby) means the second line where the temp is displayed is smaller. There are also definitely differences inside the cases--the additional features of the Cen-Tech labeled one would imply, at the least, different software and very likely some different hardware.
