The STI has more AGGRESSIVE porting on the sleeve. I think that's about as far as you can go in terms of porting on a full production motor. It's definitely impressive to see a stock engine come out of the factory like it does. The only thing that could be improved is the porting on the crank. It's also hard coated.

Power wise there is a big difference, that's my opinion personally.
