Default Engine internals

Hey guys,

I ruined an RB v12 turbo on the weekend. It wouldn't revv and i kept driving to see what would happen it flamed out i walked down from the drivers stand put down my radio walked out got my car, walked back into the pits and checked it with the temp gun and got a reading of 160*C so when i got home i rebuilt it with new P&S, rod, carby, head and case (i got the parts for free) I was inspecting the inside of the engine and i noticed the guides where the fuel travels on the inside of the case were dirty. They looked similar to a dirty head button so i sprayed in some brake cleaner and scrubed them with a toothbrush and then cleaned with nitro fuel. My question is, does cleaning these guides, and polishing the sleeve do anything performance wise?

Cheers,
hav
