For me this don't make sense
when a car has a bit of play, all the suspension components move to their prefered position when under massive loads e.g. acceleration, turning G forces etc. so if your setup isn't great the car finds its own 'centre'.
im not saying leave more than 1mm of play but just a little bit is ok.
if someone can explain it better feel free!
