yes they can scratch, esp some of the ti nitride coated ones.
I own both the integy and the Tamiya
I use the Tamiya 9 times out of ten as they are sure not to scratch, but some times a cup is alittle too tight to get on all they way and I resort to the integy as it has alittle better grip.
Haven't had a scratch with either
