teamsherman - i've seen that car in the magazines. not for reviews, but just in that add. the pro doesn't look like a bad car. however, i've never seen anything on it. not in the mags. not here. never. thunder tiger seems to have made a reputation for themselves as being cheap. whether or not this is true of the ts4e pro is still a question. but it's a question almost nobody cares to answer.
like i've been saying alot lately...for some reason..., almost any car can be competitive. the ts4e's drivetrain can be worked on the same as any other car. degrease the bearings, soak the belts, make sure nothing is binding...you get the picture.
i think, as a project, this car could rip, but it would likely be a project. diff balls, rings, outdrives, cvd's hopefully share dimensions as another more popular car. is there a oneway diff that someone makes to fit? castor blocks will need to come in various angles for tuning. again you may need to look to other suitable manufacturers for options. find out how available spares are. arms, carriers, and hubs...because if you hit the track...or really the walls, you'll need them. and yes, it may be easier to find a substitute for these parts for the future, or just for durability.
also setup information will be nonexistent. will that make your car slower? no. just the process getting there. most setup changes will react the same on that car as everyone elses. you just have to do more research and experimentation.
so i guess it'd say this. if you're getting a great price on it, or just love being different, then do it. stick with it and it may surprise quite a few. but keep in mind it's resale will be garbage, so you'll be stuck with it for a while.
