You should shrink wrap them or bag them to keep the cells apart. I tookout everything but the bottom holding tray. I tie wrapped the batteries in place after I covered each with a thick plastic bag. They are just stacked on top of each other. Once a month I'll pull them out and balance them then charge them up.

The OS VG is a very good motor. It has impressed a lot of people around here. At the Futaba challenge Second in PRO, TQ in expert and the guy that won expert were all running the VG. It is no slouch.
Also there is the Nova 3 port motor and the Sportworks 21 V2. These are all excellent motors that I am familiar with. I run my old OS RG in the car and it does great.
