Default Cleaning Foam tires run on carpet

One thing I don't like about carpet racing with foam tires is all the traction compound gunky residue and carpet fibers that the tires pick up during a race.
also an associated problem with a kind of slick shellac like coating I get on the tires some of the time. (I was told that this comes from overheating the tires and it is melted traction compound)

I have read people recommending motor spray to clean tires or actually soaking them in the traction compound it self.

Might the slick shellac like coating also be caused by using too much traction compound or not wiping enough of it off before race.

Is their any special procedure you do with your tires during the week to deep clean them or in other ways prepare them?

Thanks,
