If you start selling the Vintage motors you will need to include a how to flier for cutting the motor. It would go something like this:
1. Take motor and pound motor shaft on concret floor to "loosen" the endbell.
2. Cut motor as normal.
3. Gently pry back the motor endbell "locking" tabs.
4. Reinstall arm and endbell.
5. Using a screw driver or a punch, tap on the "locking" tabs to resecure the endbell to the can.
And no I have did this!
Oh you will also need to put a warning label on them to install capacitors!
