I have used KO analog servos with Spektrum without any issues, but I haven't used KO Digitals with it. I just know I have used the 9000S and 8800S without any issues.
It's not really a "Spektrum or LRP" issue. It's a BEC issue. I have had similar issues with Tekin ESC's too. Same fix takes care of it though; just add on a cap, Voltage Protector, or both. Although, when I installed the SR3500 instead of the SR3000 with my Tekins, I didn't have to use the voltage protector any longer.
The only way to have the HRS functionality is to have the HRS receiver and module. The HRS Module will not work with the Origional SR3000, SR3001 Pro Series, or the SR3500 Micro receiver, only the HRS receiver.
