Man i hate striped screw heads - i had 2 counter sunk screws in my Losi truck in the rear bulk head. I drilled into the screw until the head of the screw broke off, then pulled the part away and in theory should have had a little left to take off with pliers but didn't work - good thing was i only had to replace an allow pivot mount which was only a few bucks

If you can get at it with a dremmel tool then like other posts in here it's a good option
