The 5800 runs about like a good 14X2 imo so it's just an average mod motor... it can work fine in any type vehicle like these.
Maybe you need to look at the slipper, radio settings etc to calm it down if it's too much to handle right now.
btw, I have raced a xx4 with a 5800 before and it ran pretty good but the 4wd does make the system run hot...
