In Mark's diff article he mentions using T-Cut which is an auto body polish. I've heard it referenced before in model building applications for polishing out paint there. I'm wondering what an equivalent product here in the US would be. I've got a tin of good ol' Dupont #7 polish but I'm afraid that might be a bit too aggressive. Any thoughts.

Also, something I'd add to Marks comentary on running-in the balls and rings--he makes very appropriate mention to keep the polishing compound out of the bearing supporting the spur (and any other bearings for that matter). You can bet I won't have my expensive ceramic bearings on the car at all when this wearing-in activity is taking place. This is a good application for those bearings you replaced "just because" or that were JUST starting to feel a might gritty--be sure to keep a set on hand in your tool box for this purpose. Then install your good bearings when you re-assemble the axle after the thorough cleaning.
