spaz456 ,AFAIK the previous version of 12L3 is 12LC. The difference are

1) The 12LC chassis is stiffer and maybe a bit heavier.
2) The rear wheel hubs are 2 mounting holes type.
3) No blue parts in 12LC.

No 2. will limit your wheels choice but you can replace them with newer 3 hole hubs+axle later.
