Yeah, foams are faster by a noticable amount. Some people just prefer racing rubber tires on sedans, no matter what the surface. I've done both, and for what ever reason I just like running the rubber tire class more. I can't explain it. Also, if I'm not mistaken, foam tires on sedans is a relativly new thing. I believe TC's were raced competitivly for a few years before foam tires were allowed. Also, the foam tire/carpet thing is mostly just the U.S. They're both cool to do though (so lets avoid the foam vs. rubber debates
).
