Here's the scoop on the 4hour race. Also attached is a zip file containing the rules and signup form in word doc format.

2003 4 Hours of Tamiya Enduro

So you think you and some brave friends have what it takes to survive? Well, Tamiya America is proud to host the first of many new exciting race formats that will test your RC driving skills. On February 15, 2003, four long hours of driving and RC machine survival will be pitted together for a bid for the 2003 enduro crown.

Race Format

4-hour endurance race.
Qualifying will be run in the following way.
Teams must have an AMB personal transponder in the car to enter. Public transponders will not last 4 hours.
Team members are responsible for their own turn marshalling duties. There will be no turn marshals to watch the event.

Qualifying format

We will be running 2 (5-minute) rounds of IFMAR style qualifying. The fastest single lap will put the team in a respective main. The top ten times will fill the 4 -hour main Enduro. The rest of the teams will fall into a ½ hour “B” main enduro.

Rules

1.Tamiya sedan chassis only.
2.Tamiya sedan or sports car bodies only.
3.Any 7.2 six-cell battery packs. All packs may use any type of connector. The battery pack must have at least 1 inch of wire coming out of the battery.
4.No custom quick release systems on the chassis that have battery terminal contacts. All battery changes must involve plugging and unplugging the battery from the speed control.
5.All sedan tire makes are legal.
6.Non-Tamiya option parts are allowed. I.E. wheels, inserts, body posts, gears and out-drives etc.
7.Teams must consist of at least 4 drivers. More than 4 drivers per team is permitted.
8.Any motor is allowed. (Brush-less systems are permitted)
9.Tire, motor and speedo changes are allowed.
10.Qualifying chassis and body must race the main enduro.
11.Primary car must finish the race. I.E. In the case of mechanical failure, the car may be repaired, but a back-up car is not permitted.
12.The motor used for qualifying does not need to be used for the main enduro.
13.No team may recruit more than two Factory PRO drivers from the RC industry. (This is the anti Dream Team rule)

All team entries must be received by February 10, 2003. Due to the complexity of the qualifying format we cannot accept entries past this date.
