The article is about the 1/10 TC Worlds in Collegno, The author has discussed with M. Yokobori - Yokomo's boss.
Masami wanted really hard this TC title and prepared himself a lot.
It is a personal challenge for him as he would like to be the first pilot to be World Champ in any RC category.
He came with a full team to support him in this quest,
2 mecanics, one dedicated to the chassis, suspension and the other one to the transmission part only diff, motors.
Another Yokomo pilot dedicated to the batteries charge and discharge.
1 team manager.
Masami work is tires sanding and treatment, fingers + arms + full body stretching and meditation
Masami even came with a full box of glasses, all adapted to different luminosity
Mike Reedy was absent during this Worlds and no motor assistance was proposed to Masami, he asked then Team Orion for support who could not refuse.
In despite of this impressive armada, at the beginning of the first qualification leg Masami's motor was soldered with reverse polarity and Yokomo team have urgently turned the endbell to let Masami run but it results with a shorter wire that came unsoldered during the leg and Masami did not finish.

Last text block is about Masami race, Andy Moore and Masami finished the qualification with the same points but Andy was faster with 0.05 sec at one leg and had the TQ.
First final leg, Masami chased Andy tried to pass him inside but Andy slammed the door and Masami spinned, Marc who was around passed Masami and finsihed second in front of Masami.
Second leg, Masami forced and tried the impossible to pass Andy and was given a Stop&Go penalty, he then finished at the third place.
Third and last final, Masami at the middle of the race was 5-6 meters behind Andy showed his talents and came back on Andy who with wisdom let Masami passed him.
Masami finished Second at this Worlds event and has not filled this little gap in his prestigious palmares.
