Default HS-5645MG on Novak XXtra receiver question

I have a question regarding my HS-5645MG servo.

I have a 75MHz Novak XXtra receiver controlled by an Airtronics MX-3 3-channel transmitter. I would like to use this receiver in my Traxxas E-Maxx along with a Hitec HS-5645MG digital servo for my steering servo (channel 1), the Traxxas/Novak EVX speed control (channel 2), and the Traxxas 2055 servo for my shifting servo (channel 3). In the channel 1 slot, the digital HS-5645MG servo doesn't seem to respond at all. However, when I tried it in the channel 3 slot, it works fine. My analog Hitec HS-645MG (which is currently the steering servo in my E-Maxx) will work just fine in either the channel 1 or channel 3 spot though (again, with the EVX as the speed control on channel 2). All of my other analog servos (Hitec HS-925MG, JR Z650M, Airtronics 94102, and Futaba S3003) also seem to work fine when plugged into the channel 1 spot on the XXtra receiver and EVX.

The digital HS-5645MG servo works just fine when plugged into my other cars (Novak XXL receiver and LRP IPC 7.1 ESC) as the steering servo on channel 1. I have even tried the XXtra receiver with the LRP IPC 7.1 ESC and the Hitec HS-5645MG servo still does not operate when on channel 1, but will operate when on channel 3.

Any ideas on why the Hitec HS-5645MG servo does not respond in the channel 1 position on the Novak XXtra receiver (but will work when on channel 3)? By the way, I have one of the older HS-5646MG servos (it says "Revised 2001" on the side of the casing), if it makes any difference.

Hopefully you can give me an answer as to what's wrong here. Thanks in advance!
