Look closely, BK had one too. I heard of them popping up at a lot of big races. I have also heard some mod motors getting so hot as to melt the solder. I believe the fan was the solution to the problem.
I mounted one as well, but I'm not gonna keep it. I could only find a 12v and it won't spin at full speed with a 7.2v pack. Also, I don't think it did much for me.
