I used dean plugs too before.. flatten the end of the wire before you tin it with solder and solder to your battery, in that way the soldered part is not that bulky and it will still slide with regards to the wires, what I did was I made the red(+) long enough to reach the negative (-) terminal.. and than the black wire is very short like 1.5 inch long this way you will only manage the red wire to fit with out touching anything like the belt... obviously your ESC dean plug will sit on th side where your batt's negative side is... this setup worked with my TA04R with no probs. I wish I still have old pics of my TA04R for you to see.
