It's either the clutch shoe is still new and need sometime to match the contour of the bell, OR inside surface of the bell is glazed, OR you need to reduce the front shims ( too many will bog down the engine. Assuming you have set the clutch spring correctly ). OR, you could change to yellow clutch shoe for more punch.
