Top end equipment helps top end drivers. For most drivers, I would say equipment 20%, driving skill 80%. Your GT7 is terrific, and still very competitive. If your servo has a speed of .13 or faster, that's plenty to drive fast. Where I race, some of the long-time drivers have not updated their equipment for years, and are very competitive because they know how to drive. For anyone new to the sport, I would recommmend they spend more time practicing, and if you are going to spend money, spend it on tires. Trust me, you will know when your equipment is holding you back. IMHO
