As the battery wars are going on with some claiming that certain cells are better because a racer wins a race with them made me want to post some info to help educate the racer who actually has to pay for his packs.

At a recent race I attended I purchased a Peak GP4300 pack. I built this pack and cycled it to see what the GP4300s looked like. I also built an IB4200 pack which will allow me to compare it to the GP pack.

Both packs are 4 cell packs and were cycled on a GFX using 6 amp charge with a .02 peak detect, 120 delay , 6 amp .01 repeak. Each pack was built using our low resistance Intellect bars and were cycled 3 times before the cycle posted below.

The GP4300 was discharged at 30 amps as this is the amp rate used by Peak. The IB4200 was discharged at 35 amps as this is the rate we use at SMC.

GP4300 sticker number total: 533 - 4.848 - 7.6

Cycle numbers: 492 - 4.79 - 9.0

IB4200 sticker number total: 436 - 4.859 - 6.7

Cycle numbers: 434 - 4.84 - 7.2

As my tests show the voltage and IR of the IB4200 is better at 35 amps then the GP4300 pack at 30 amps. Next cycle I will do the GP4300 at 35 amps and the IB4200 at 30 amps and will post the results.
