I tried one of the super duper conrod sets...
Ran 6-7 tanks on a small, nearby track (Gouda), and everything looked good.
Next day I went to MACH and started running a little rich to heat up the engine/carb.
At lap #9, on a slow part/hairpin in front of the pit area, the engine blew...
I opened it up and the conrod was broken just below the piston.
The remaining part of the conrod slammed into the bottom of the piston/sleeve.
I sent the engine to Serpent, and their conclusion was that it was my fault.
I have been using a Palmaris rod and bearing....I have been "experimenting" in their opinion.
No warranty, but I could get a 15% discount when I purchase a new ZX12....that's the equivalent of a conrod-set that has to be replaced after break-in anyway.
No word on the reason of the breaking of the conrod.
That a conrod fails and costs me a lot of money, is not nice.
But that they treat you like a dumb ass, is what hurts me more.

A O.S. 12TZ is on it's way: more time for racing instead of tuning and fixing.
