The metal here is very thin, and the cranks I've seen are very hard so there is no flex underload whatsoever. Coupled with the thin tunnel everyone who has run them is breaking them in the same spot. The engine itself is an awesome engine, but have they increased the amount of metal here? Trying to get an answer from Sirio is almost impossible, and I'm very curious as to the differences between the new STI that is to replace the EVO 3. Anybody have the scoop??
That problem was fixed on the new STI line, I'm not sure what they did, but I know that they fixed it. Make sure that the engine mount is not touching the case of the engine, that will cause escessive vibration and will break the crank.
New STI line is the same EVO3 but has more work done on it, it is the motor that they use to call "team motor", now it is available to the public.
