Only if the bearings are 100% air-tight can they be maintenence free and even then, I would have my doubts if that is a good idea.
Its just my personal feeling, but I much prefer to clean and lube my bearings myself, as then I know how good they are. Nitro RC is very labour intesive and there really isn't anyway of short-cutting these processes without sacrificing something.

I have asked that question to Boca Bearings before and he did say that they are lubed for life. He told me that they can be serviced but they should not need it.
