you were told wrong, YRX-12 cells are in the chassis vertically. chassis with the same cell config and hole layout patterns are the CRC T-Fource, and Quad-12.
AE 12L3 chassis has 6 battery slots and 4 cells are run in the aft 4 slots. cells are horizontly mounted. AE 12L4 has only 4 slots, cells are in the chassis same as 12L3.
