Theoretically with a looser rear diff, both left and right wheels have more ease to spin on their own, hence generate the grip in corners. But then, with a tighter rear diff, the RESISTANCE of the tires to generate individual spin MAY also bring about some level of grip, UNTIL the resistance grip gave way and then causing the rear to break loose. And practically, I found that with a looser rear diff, the car tends to behave unpredictably entering into corners...no confidence on the rear end.
Play tell I guess, different tracks will have different kind of traction characteristics that require different theories and setups...
