Default Oneways

Hey, i got a 415 not too long ago and it came with a diff and a 1 way, because i race carpet, and i used to use a diff, i just put it in and raced once. Now, i was thinking i would try the 1 way just for fun, but when i put it in it jammed up my steering and the 1 way bearind didn't work(left side, the cup has a little added bump to make it wider). I find this odd because it works perfectly out of the car. I was wondering if any of you ran the 1 way on carpet, or does it give you too much steering and make the car too hard to drive. I've never used one and i was just wondering if it was worth using after i get it to work?

PS, did i make some stupid mistake because i don't have a manual and put the diff in backwards or something like that?
