Treat the tire with WD40 on a rag, let it soak about 5 minutes, THEN rub them out with a denatured alcohol dampened rag. Use tire warmers even if the track is warm. You want them as close to surface temp when you run as possible. The first few laps waiting for the tires to heat up can be a crucial gap ahead of those that dont prepare. Good stuff.
