Centre one-way on its own, reduces steering (slightly) and improves efficiency of the drivetrain. So if adding the one-way diff is too aggressive then adding the pulley smooths that aggression out a bit.

Its just I NEVER see anyone mention the centre one way, so cant see the point of it being there really, other than what you have said, but no one seems to use it
