How do I break-in a Picco .27?
I just recently bought an Ofna/Picco .27 engine for my truggy. I am looking through the manual, trying to find out how to break the engine in. All it says is to run for 10-15 minutes. Now, I have broken in my fair share of nitro engines, and never has a manual been so deficient in providing a break in procedure. I am guessing that they mean the total break in time should be a total of about 10-15 minutes, but how should I know. I have an RB .21 engine that I recently broke in, and the procedure is quite extensive and complex. However, I am very pleased with the results. Since Picco is a relatively nice engine (like an RB, Sirio, Rossi, etc.), I was thinking that I could go by the same break in method as with the RB. Do you all agree? Or does each engine have a specific way to break in the engine?
Also, I have heard that you really shoudn't run the first tank "on the bench," and in don't let it idle for the first tank. I heard that it does something funky to the sleeve, like when you want to throttle up, the engine won't allow it. I read that you should plop the truck on the ground right from the first tank, but obviously take it really slow. Do you all agree?
