i had the same problem with my savage,it happened when i switched to the lightened gears no matter where i put the shift point it would not shift period
well after screwing with it for 2 weeks i sent it off to HPI,when i finally heard back from them they told me i had the second gear locked down
so when i get it back imm looking it over and for some reason something is bothering me about the way the gear box looks,so i start to take it apart and the it hits me the had the tranny out of the truck.
all the scews have been loctited in(TIGHT) i left them loose while i was testing different setting,so when i get the tranny out all the screws in the case are loc tited also????
i open it up and look at the clutch assy. for the 2 speed and low and behold its ALL new they didnt fix it the just replaced it all and threw it back together.
i was only upset they didnt tell me the truth but it did fix the problem as it shifted great after that
