I think your asking what the "cycling" mode does for our batteries. What it does is charge and discharge your batteries several times to "break" them in better. Thats the short explaination.
However you never get to equalize the battery that way, so it's usually best to 1. Charge, 2. Run, 3. Discharge, 4. Tray / Equalize and then 5. Store or Charge again.
Again...short answer but still good / decent advice!
