dude dont listen to these guyz if ur engine is tuned right dont touch it its got to do with the shift points
did it shift before? if it did and the tranny is pretty old i suggest pulling it apart and checking the 2nd gear carrier that has 2 little knotchesi n it if those knotches are gone buy a new 2 speed clutch
if the tranny is new adjust the 2nd speed shift screw i say turn it out 1/8 of a time untill u can shift wer u want
i know with my 4.6 ss i gotta go around 30 metres or 20 at a real high speed till it kicks in and u can like hear it go wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa kawa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhh its pretty good i dont recommend the 3 speed tho that misses 3rd gear alot
newayz man just dont have it off the ground and engage 2nd gear u can screw up the gears and the knotches in the clutch
