I am running foam tires and out of the package I believe they have a 63 mm diameter. Does it matter or should I true them down to a smaller diameter? What is standard practice? What are the advantages by making them smaller? Or the disadvantages running them with the larger diameter.

Foam tyres will not chuck if you round off the side walls, but yes it is considered that between 55-57mm dia tyres perform better then 64mm dia tyres. Having said that, I run them from new during club meetings and only at competition I true them down to an appropriate size. I feel that for the average racer, there is only a slight difference to performance from large to small foam tyres.
